Top 5 Reasons Why You Should Not Get Married

Reasons Why You Should Not Get Married

The story starts with this line “Someone somewhere is made for you”. This holds true in everyone’s life. In every Man’s life there is a Woman and vice-versa. When they find that someone they automatically get into wedlock-Marriage which in other term is called as JAIL. If you are happy alone why should any get married?

It’s a human tendency that when a person gets involved in something new he/she will be excited, but that excitement doesn’t end long. It’s always short term. Marriage is also something where the couple will be excited for a while in the start, because they will be starting their new phase of life, but after sometime they will lose that excitement.

Newly married people or one who is getting married will be so happy that they won’t see any one around. They are in their own world, and they love that world. Many couple who aren’t happy with marriage, say that they shouldn’t have got married. But I think this quote by Socrates is true, “By all means, marry. If you get a good wife, you’ll become happy; if you get a bad one, you’ll become a philosopher.”

Top 5 Reasons Why You Should Not Get Married:

Freedom: The first and foremost thing you will lose is freedom. You can’t do whatever you want. For everything you have to ask for permission and if you don’t then you are considered as bad wife or husband.  You will lose your independence. You need to share each and everything with your partner. No secrets,  no bachelor parties…

Friendship: From school to college to office the friendship you had been maintained will have the chances of getting lost somewhere. You can’t be the same with everyone. Your husband/wife will get possessive if you start speaking to a girl/boy friend who was once upon a time you close friend. They start doubting on you if you start speaking the way how you were speaking when you were unmarried. You can’t be frank or bold.

Responsibilities and Commitments: These two are burden in every human life “Responsibilities and Commitments”. When you are single you would be having responsibilities but it is less compared to the one when you get married. You need to think about your wife/husband, children, in-laws… and the list goes on.

Saving money for everything (home expenses), and when you have kids you will be lost in your own world. You got to commit for many things. And the responsibility to complete/finish commitment is a burden of course.

Compromise: Both men and women need to compromise in everything. Though men have less to compromise, women will be burdened “compromising”. They have to get adjusted in the new place, like or dislike. They have to get adjusted with new people around (in-laws), their food habits, their living style…

When there is a fight between in-laws and wife, husband has to tackle the situation so cleverly that he shouldn’t hurt his wife (who has left her lifestyle just for him) and even in-laws (who has taken care of him from birth)…uff… this seems to be tough.  Though they fight (husband and wife) they need to compromise with each other and has to go on in life.

Age and Fashion: Many who get married and have children think its end of their life, they have lived their life and nothing more left. They live very causally. They think that they are very old now. Women feel that they are aged and they have lost their style.

Before marriage the same girl would dress so fashionably and go out and they would expect others to look at them and complement. But after marriage the same girl feels no reason step out in style. They feel, they are aged and no one would notice her (except her husband, who has to notice, as they are married now-no other way for him). This is also a reason for few men too (though not all men think the same).

  • Here is an article “against” marriage from an author who wrote a wounderful article about her father…. what a contradiction, if there were no marriages, there would not be an opportunity for the same author to write about a heart touching feeling about her father!!!!!!! hope the author’s finds the thin line of difference between “views based on wisdom” and “ideas based on situation”.

  • PDP an author should look into all aspects n write and that’s what I did..its not only my views expressed here…its about others views too… 🙂

  • I below it’s the same Pradeep who I know (unmarried) 🙂 Then your bound to say this…

Although it’s not true with everyone….but the majority I believe feels the same…I have to wait and see if this view changes as we grow older – Mallik
