Review: OMG Oh My God! – A Hilarious movie
Oh My God is a fantasy-comedy movie that directed by Umesh Shukla, produced by Akshay Kumar and Paresh Rawal. Paresh Rawal and Akshay Kumar are in the lead important roles. Others like Lubna Salim, Mithun Chakraborty, Poonam Jhawer, Govind Namdeo, Mahesh Manjrekar, Nidhi Subbaiah, Murli Sharma and Om Puri are in supporting roles. The movie is based on Gujarati play called Kanji Virudh (vs) Kanji, and similar to the plot of The Man Who Sued God (Australian film).
We have seen Akshay and Paresh’s Jodi in comedy movies like Hera Pheri and Phir Hera Pheri. They are awesome Jodi and again they have joined hands with this movie. No questions about Paresh’s comedy, the way he speaks and dialogues are just too good. No one can beat him in acting and comedy. Not to forget, Mithun Charaborty as Godman has done well too.
Coming to the story, it’s the story about nasthik (one who doesn’t believe god) and middle class person – Kanji (Paresh). His shop gets destroyed and insurance company denies paying the insurance saying its “Act of God”. Kanji decides to file a lawsuit against God.
He faces lots of discouragement from the supporters of God, and none of the lawyer takes his case. But he doesn’t fail and goes ahead with the case with the help Hanif Qureshi (Om Puri), a poor Muslim lawyer. Since Hanif is bed-ridden without the use of his legs, he can only file the case, and says Kanji will have to argue it himself.
Kanji says Godman-Mithun Charaborty and others (swamijis) are all salesmen and they just distract people by taking loads of money. He faces the heat of believers of God. His family leaves him alone. And it is then God (Akshay Kumar) in the form of Krishna appears in front of him and help in all the way. How he fights the case, and how god helps him (though Kanji is non believer of god)? Will he ever start believing in God? Watch the movie to find answers for this.
The message in the movie is direct. God exists and helps one who helps themselves. God doesn’t need any donation, he just needs to be trusted or believed. Help yourself, God will help you. Help others definitely God will help you. “LOVE GOD, DON’T BE GOD FEARING.” Do not go by Dhongi baba’s or charity trusts, they are salemen…Yes! It is true. What do you think?
A Must Watch movie, for believers and also not to forget “OVER BELIEVERS” of GOD. Why did I say “OVER BELIEVERS”, see the movie to know this.
I really wish this movie makes 100cr business and more. its just worth it.
