Imtiaz Ali is known to create magic on-screen. His films like Jab We Met, Rockstar and Love Aaj Kal impressed the viewers, especially youngsters. This movie too, with the promos and mini trailers promised fresh story. But it looked like a mixture of Jab We Met and Love Aaj Kal.
Shah Rukh Khan (Harry) is a lonely European Tour guide, whose only weakness is his female clients. Anushka Sharma (Sejal) meets Harry in the trip, where she loses her ring. Her fiancée and she have an argument when she informs him about the lost ring. She then decides to get the ring back.
Sejal forces Harry to help her search the ring. Harry, who is attracted towards women, although finds Sejal beautiful, doesn’t touch Sejal in a bad way. This insults Sejal and she starts seducing him. When Harry feels lonely, she tells him to make her GF. WTH – She says she is engaged, emotionally attached to the ring, and calls his fiancée in front of Harry and wants him to imagine her as his GF until she is with him!!
As expected, the duo falls in love. The story is all about : Will Sejal find the ring? Will she ditch her fiancé and marry Harry – if so how?
The locations and picturisation is good. You will get to see the world (a few places) as Sejal searches her ring. Shah Rukh, Anushka and SRK’s friend Aru K Verma have done a fabulous job. SRK will make anyone fall in love with him.
Anushka’s Gujarati accent and her ‘lawyergiri’ will surely make you laugh.
Too many songs and their random placements (‘Beech Beech Main’ song sach main beech main hi place kar diya… WHY?), random scenes (I mean from where did the don come! The way Harry and Sejal go to one place to another is too fast). The song ‘Phurr’ is just visually good.
We hate Sejal’s character – I mean if you notice, Harry acts decent in front of her and it is she who falls on him, asks him to accept her as GF until she is with him… etc etc…
To Watch or Not To Watch?
Go if you are SRK’s fan. Go if you want to watch places with SRK and Anushka. The film has nothing new in it. It is just another timepass film. For SRK and Anushka’s acting we can give the film 2 ratings. But otherwise the movie fails to impress us.
